photo diary // London, take 1
this past fall, Mikey and i packed our bags for a trip overseas for our 2nd anniversary. having never been to Europe before, words cannot describe how excited i was to finally visit the places of my dreams! Our first stop was in London, but for less than 24 hours, as we were on our way that next morning to be in Paris on our anniversary - more on that later :)
we took the Heathrow Express into the city and took the tube from there to our hotel, Club Quarters, in Trafalgar Square. We spent the day and night walking the city, as one should :) we went by Buckingham Palace, went to St. James Park and did some general wandering .. by the evening we had made our way to Leicester Square and had dinner at The Porcupine, which is rich in history and has pictures of famous British actors adorning the walls .. it was a great way to ease into European life :) here are some photos from that first day - our adventures in London, take 1 ..

michelle lesniak // little girl lost
Michelle Lesniak, Portland native, won project runway a few seasons ago, and she may have made my favorite collection i've seen from a project runway contestant. a lot of times you'll like a person for who they are, not necessarily the clothes they are putting out there. it is a bit rare to like/love both the designer AND the work they create, as was the case with Michelle. i about died with happiness and excitement at what she put down the runway as her final collection, and thankfully, won the competition for it!
now Michelle is back home in Portland creating more amazing work. here is one of her collections that i absolutely love, called "little girl lost" .. these pictures capture the essence of who she is as a designer - a loner, a creative, a strong and resilient woman. i am always drawn to photos created not only in nature, but in the woods especially .. growing up with a forest in my backyard, i always feel a sense of home and strength from the woods ..
if you want to stay connected with what Michelle is up to lately, follow along on her blog here! all photography done by another Portland native, Kevin Focht ..

the girl behind the blue door
casper and pearl is an australian clothing brand with the most beautiful style .. i love everything about them - the clothes, the photos, the story, the hair, the beautiful young girls who bring it all to life .. the new campaign for their spring/summer 13/14 collection is debuting now and everything can be ordered through the website .. these photos make me want to be this kind of girl, who wears these beautiful clothes:
"She's that strange beauty next door about whom people whisper and wonder. shes not afraid of being who she is, so she dances slowly on her front lawn to the sound of the Beatles."
