the girl behind the blue door

casper and pearl is an australian clothing brand with the most beautiful style .. i love everything about them - the clothes, the photos, the story, the hair, the beautiful young girls who bring it all to life .. the new campaign for their spring/summer 13/14 collection is debuting now and everything can be ordered through the website .. these photos make me want to be this kind of girl, who wears these beautiful clothes:

"She's that strange beauty next door about whom people whisper and wonder.  shes not afraid of being who she is, so she dances slowly on her front lawn to the sound of the Beatles."

this girl is me, this girl is you .. the girl behind the blue door ..

jewelry fit for a queen

i am so in love with game of thrones .. i've been reading the books and am almost done with the most recent one, number 5 - not a light read, i'll tell you :) its always a joy to find two mediums of the same story that can equally stand on their own - the way the game of thrones series does .. for the third season of the show, one of my favorites, Danerys, has been wearing these amazing dragonbone-esque pieces necklaces, so of course i tried to find something similar  .. the costumer does a good job of with her wardrobe, playing with hard and soft - feminine but strong, as she is a khaleesi (queen), yet still a girl ..   these necklaces help remind everyone of her strength, after all, she is the mother of dragons ..

here's a few pieces i've found that are a bit similar..

these necklaces are from free people and etsy, respectively ..

Laure de Sagazan wedding collection 2013

just because i already got married doesn't mean i will ever stop looking at beautiful wedding dresses .. finding a wedding dress was something i took VERY seriously .. i wanted to find something that really spoke to me, that embodied who i am .. after a year (!) of looking, i choose a dress made entirely of vintage lace from the etsy boutique hippiebride ..

Being so in love with lace, the new collection from French designer Laure de Sagazan really makes me want to get married all over again, just for another dress :) The photography, captured by french photographer Laurent Nivalle  is stunning - so ethereal, delicate, romantic, dreamy ..

free people limited edition summer dresses

free people has just come out with a line of limited edition summer dresses, all white and light and stunning! its like they looked straight into my mind and thought "hmmm...white, lace, summer - perfection!" the great thing about these dresses is that they could be used as an alternative to a wedding dress, or could be dressed down easily for a summer party. very versatile :) in terms of a wedding dress, the cost would be pretty reasonable..maybe not so much for a party dress, unless you don't have to shop in the sale section like me :)

Austin Scarlett was robbed

if you know me, you know that i am a HUGE fan of Project Runway, I was insanely happy that my two favorites, Austin and Mondo, were the top 2 contenders, as this never seems to happen (i'm bad at picking winners) HOWEVER, in the past few episodes of the season, Mondo had such a terrible attitude and was incredibly bitchy towards the other designers, a side of him not previously shown. Maybe he was always like that, but it really threw me off, and i started secretly praying for Austin Scarlett to take the top prize. He evokes whimsy, imagination, and is just himself inspiring to watch create. His final runway collection wasn't quite as cohesive as Mondo's, but the craftsmanship, detail and effort put into each and every piece was amazing! That wedding dress! It made me say out loud "i want to wear that dress"..too bad i missed being able to wear it by about 6 months *sigh*
So, it is my belief that Austin was robbed of the title. Seriously, look at this dress! so romantic!

if you're unfamiliar with her designs, here is a bit from her bio that helps showcase her talent: http://www.karenwalker.com/profile/about/

"... Karen Walker collections are high casual. The reoccurring theme is taking extremes and pushing them together — masculine and feminine, tailored and street, luxury and non luxury, dark and super-cute. Overall the label has a feeling of effortlessness and has been described by the U.K.’s Independent newspaper as being “The kind of look that provides a means of appearing cool but not trying-too-hard, cute but not saccharine, alternative but not self consciously so.”
