tuesday tunes - slave ambient

After hearing The War on Drugs while listening to KEXP's broadcast of SXSW a few months back, i haven't been able to stop listening to their album Slave Ambient .. its so reminiscent of a long car rides with my dad, heading out to see Tom Petty or the Moody Blues at the Gorge when i was younger .. with summer sneaking up on us after this long, dull Seattle winter, this album is definitely on my list for the inevitable long summer road trips. i can't help but be reminded of Tom Petty's easy voice, especially on Your Love is Calling My Name. The band is spending the summer touring Europe and playing in some pretty big festivals, including Sasquatch, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and the Pickathon Music Festival near Portland.
